Pros and cons of Learn Chinese Mandarin! app for iPhone and iPad

Learn Chinese Mandarin! app good for

Pretty usefull, could use some more variety in the games and features though. Maybe when you flip the card you can see the character as well? Hopefully there will be additions to the vocabulary library as well. Besides that this is a great way to memorize vocabulary and a few phrases are included also.
Very similar to the rossetta stone methodology. Learn by pictorial memory games that tell you the sound of the word/phrase. Mostly for learning vocabulary. It was useful for me since Im learnig mandarin to be able to speak with my mother in law. Its a fast way to learn some useful words. However it has two major flaws: -not enogh phrases, mostly vocabulary. - crashes sparingly The crashing doesnt happen often, but it has happenend a few times while on game mode. Overall Im satisfied with the product and its a good alternative for those who want to learn the language. Has both Chinese characters and pinyin. Rcommendations for improvement: - itd be great if the software could analyze your voice recording and tell you weather or not youre doing the tones correctly. -also the hard game doesnt help you learn much because it is more of a memory game. It would be cool to have a game where you would have to say the word corresponding to the image shown.
The method is great and the software is very well built. However, its very limited due to the tiny amount of words you could learn by using it. Anyway, a great purchase for a beginner.
This application is actually fun to use and keeps your attention. However, it is has several limitations. Great for the beginner but you will definitely need something more comprehensive. Also, I would love to have seen some type of calculator for word mastery.
I knew two words in mandarin before using this app. It is very helpful for complete beginners attempting to learn some mandarin before an overseas trip! I highly recommend it to anyone looking to learn some basic, useful words and phrases.
Great language program, interactive games, and terrific sound. Vocabulary is limited, but presents enough words and phrases to accommodate the casual traveler. Words and phrases are presented by two different voices, male and female. Added feature is the ability to record ones own voice right on the iPad and hear the play back.
